    Legal Retreat Context

    Active

Psilocybin mushrooms are not scheduled under Jamaican law. Retreats and facilitators operating in Jamaica are not subject to a specific licensing regime — the legal basis is the absence of scheduling rather than active legalization. This has allowed a number of well-established retreat operations to develop, some with years of documented outcomes data. Ayahuasca similarly has no scheduling in Jamaica. Retreat operators work under general Jamaican business and health regulations.

    What's Allowed

    • Psilocybin mushroom retreats
    • Ayahuasca ceremonies
    • Facilitated psychedelic experiences (unlicensed substances only)

    Not Allowed

    • MDMA administration (scheduled in Jamaica)
    • Ibogaine (scheduled in Jamaica)
    • Sale or export of scheduled substances

    How to Access

    1. 1.Research retreat operators — look for facilitator credentials and published outcomes
    2. 2.Complete a pre-screening questionnaire covering health history and medications
    3. 3.Confirm the retreat's safety protocols before booking, especially emergency response
    4. 4.Be aware that your home country's laws still apply to substances you may bring back
